What is Polytechnic?

Polytechnic is a very popular course which you can study after the completion of the 10th or 12th class. Students after the completion of the course get a diploma certificate.

A diploma certificate is issued by the educational institution that testifies that the recipient has successfully completed a particular course of study. Normally this course takes 3 years to complete.

If you do this course after the completion of the 10th class then you have to study for the 3 years to get the diploma.

If the student who has passed 12th class and wants to do this course then he can also pursue this.

The advantage he will get while doing the course is that he will have to only study for 2 years for getting the diploma. Indirectly diploma is equivalent to intermediate.

Eligibility for Polytechnic

The students who have minimum passed 10th class or SSC with a minimum of 40% are eligible for the diploma course.

Students should have studied English, Maths, and Science compulsorily in their SSC for applying for the diploma courses.

Selection Process

First of all, a notification is issued by the government regarding the admission.

Students need to fill the application forms released by the authorities within the given time period.

They have to upload the required documents which are asked to upload.

After this, there are CAP rounds through which a student has to go. After the first round, students get the college based on their marks.

If they are satisfied with the college which is allotted to them then they can go to the college for the further process or they can further go for the next CAP round.

Advantages of Polytechnic

First of all, you will get a technical certificate after completing your diploma course.

On the basis of your diploma certificate, you can apply for the government and private jobs.

You can also look forward to going for higher studies. One of the biggest advantages that a diploma holder possesses is its technical knowledge.

The amount of technical knowledge they are having is pretty much more than that of a student who has completed intermediate.

What after doing Polytechnic

A question will arise in the mind of the students that what they can do further after completion of a diploma.

Students can go for engineering in the branch they have opted during the diploma or if they want a different branch than they can also change before taking admission in engineering college.

One of the advantages of doing engineering after the diploma course is that the student can get admission directly in the 2nd year of engineering.

One can also go for the job after completing the diploma course. There are jobs available in the government sector including the armed forces.

Options for Higher Studies

If you are not willing to work and want to opt for post-graduation then you can pursue M.Tech or M.S in computer engineering. Usually, M.Tech is a 2-year course and M.S is a 3-year long course.

After M.tech students can find a job in both private and public sector firms.

You can also do a Ph.D. if you are interested in the research field. Generally, it is a 5-year integrated course which involves two years of course and three years of research work.

Self Dependent

If you are interested in business or want to become an entrepreneur then you can also go in this field after getting a diploma or after getting a degree. Otherwise, you can go for an MBA course.

This course is most helpful for students who are inclined towards business and management.

Most of the companies allow a higher range of salary for the candidates who are from an MBA background.

The polytechnic is one of the best courses one can prefer after completing there SSC. It will help in building your technical knowledge and will allow you the job opportunity at a very early age.

The future in after this scope looks good. The scope after the diploma course is very vast.

So it will be good for the students to think out of the box and try to make themselves different from the crowd who only thinks that HSC is the only good thing after completing the 10th class.
